ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS: AN AUCTION RECORD OF €75,000

Apr 13, 2026

Something special had been brewing over the past few days. And interest in our HorseSales.Auction spring edition proved to be huge. Many new buyers registered before the auction began. One of them set a new record with a hammer price of €75,000 for Ethan van Schuttershof (Emerald). After a fierce battle between Qatar, Morocco and the USA, it was a Swedish buyer who had the most staying power at the moment of truth.

One of the highlights of the evening. Domingo SK (Dourkhan Hero) also found a new owner for a whopping €31,000. He will be joining a renowned sport stable in the United States.

The bidders from Qatar were certainly not to be outdone, however. They secured Inaico’s son Salut for €21,000, the promising Colitas (Corydon) for €12,000, and the athletic Eclectique Baby Z for €10,500 for their sports stable.

The varied group of young horses in the 3 to 5-year-old age category attracted considerable international interest. And new clients from countries including Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Italy, Indonesia, Belgium and Spain were the lucky final bidders on a HorseSales.Auction listing.

Records were also set in the frozen embryo group, where the unique combination of Comme il Faut and the ¾ sister of United Touch was sold for €8,500. There was also considerable interest in the combination of the European Champion and the full sister of Dominator 2000 Z, which is heading to a Belgian stud farm for €7,500. Meanwhile, an up-and-coming Dutch sport and breeding stable made the final bid of €5,500 for an embryo from the sister of, amongst others, Balou du Rouet, Balou du Reventon and Chatinue.

With yet another exceptionally high sales percentage, a large group of new buyers, and the support of regular bidders and consignors, the HorseSales.Auction team looks back on a highly successful edition. And forward to the next round, where the young horses will once again take centre stage!
